9 Things I Appreciate About my Employees

I wasn’t a great employee. I felt like a caged lion and my frustration sometimes got the better of me. I’m now an employer of seven and am grateful every day that none of them are like me. So, on Employee Appreciation Day, here’s what I appreciate about my team:

  1. They’re talented and willing to learn.

  2. They come from all walks of life – born in different countries, speak different languages, have tattoos (I won’t lie, I’m not a fan of the latter).

  3. They’re respectful to our clients and especially each other.

  4. While they know nothing about sport, they humour my love of Hawthorn (although one did tell me after a few drinks how much she hated the Hawks. Some may say a career limiting move, I say have another drink).

  5. Every day they ask each other how their night was and what they are doing tonight.

  6. They take a genuine interest in one another.

  7. They start chatting as soon as I leave the office (yes, I know you do).

  8. They’re switched on as soon as they arrive at work.

  9. They deliver.
