The world of social media and content marketing is ever-evolving, and we want to help your property or real estate business stay top-of-mind for customers, and ahead of the game when it comes to presence and engagement online.

Here are some of the latest insights, trends and updates taking place in social media and content marketing.

Lead Generation Ideas for Your Marketing

The team from Giraffe Social Media have put together a list of five tried and tested lead generation ideas to help you acquire leads in a highly competitive market.

  1. High-quality Blog Content

Blogs are an excellent way of sharing your knowledge and establishing yourself as an industry leader. When concluding your articles, be sure to include CTAs that invite your readers to sign up for a newsletter, follow your socials, or make a purchase.

  2. Free Guides to Download

Email marketing should already be a key part of your strategy, but how do you actually get addresses in the first place? Try offering a free downloadable guide packed with info that readers can exchange their email to get access to.

  3. Create Online Courses

People all over the world – including your customers – are looking for ways to educate themselves and improve their skill sets. Creating an online course can be a great way of finding people who already have an interest in your service or knowledge. When someone has completed a course, set up an automatic mail funnel that invites them to make another purchase.

  4. Answer Questions

People are always looking for answers, so spending a few hours a week answering online questions is a pain-free way of getting leads. Remember to flesh out your profile to include links to websites, socials, and more.

  5. Feature on Podcasts

By reaching out to, and being a guest on, podcasts with a fanbase that relate to your industry, you can tap into an existing audience with ease. When reaching out to podcast hosts, be sure to explain who you are, and why you’d be a good fit for their show.

Insider Tips for Standing Out on LinkedIn

Alexandra Morales, a social media manager for the LinkedIn Ads team, recently shared some best practices to make your LinkedIn organic and paid posts stand out.

We highlight some of the main ideas below, but you can read the full article here

  1. Add value through your interactions

LinkedIn users are keen to interact with content that offers value to them.

Whether you’re seeking answers to a poll, or comments on your latest post, you must convey value and lessen the commitment in order to gain engagement.

  2. Content that disrupts the norm are more likely to get noticed

This may be an obvious point, but stopping users as they scroll is key, and one way to do that is to prompt people with interesting text or visuals.

    As per Morales:

“Disruptive content can include bold or counter-intuitive statements that ignite the reader’s imagination and curiosity, or it can include eye-pleasing, pattern-breaking visuals that stand out in the scroll.”

  3. Provide inspiration

The most inspirational content on LinkedIn often originates from a true understanding of an audience’s worries, wants, and needs. Inspirational content can be easy to create, easy to love, and easy to share, and for these reasons there’s an abundance of it on the platform.

“Instead of settling for inspirational quotes, aim to create stories that inspire confidence in your brand and connect back to your company’s core values. Inspirational stories that reinforce your brand’s values can deliver positive effects for years.”

So instead of publishing generic ‘you can do it’ posts, share specific examples that explore your business or personal ‘why’.

  4. Use the right visuals

Morales notes that using the right visuals, in the right formats, is key to boosting interaction.

“You’ll want to embed larger images instead of standard thumbnails as content with larger images tend to get a 38% higher CTR. An image size of 1200 x 627 pixels is recommended.”

Morales also recommends that you consider how your visuals will appear on mobile devices.

  5. Concise headlines work best

Morales says that shorter ad headlines generally lead to more engagement.

“When writing ad headlines, aim for 150 characters or fewer. As for descriptive copy, shoot for 70 characters or fewer (anything over 100 characters will be truncated on desktop).”

Getting users to take the next action is more important than sharing everything all at once.

Tips to Level Up Your Instagram Ads

Instagram has shared some fundamental tips on how to boost the performance of your ads, by aligning with best practices based on ad response.

  1. Tell a story: Show how your brand can be a part of your customer’s lifestyle.

  2. Inspire action: Show real people using your products or services to build trust.

  3. Creative visual interest: Use different layouts, colours, perspectives and textures that align with your brand.

Social Media Hacks to Help You Stand Out From the Crowd

Engagement is one of the most important metrics when it comes to measuring the success of your content strategy. Here are some useful tips from Media Update to help you boost engagement:

  1. The Burger King Method

In the world of social media, this strategy involves finding a big creator in your industry and checking what time they post. You can schedule your posts a few minutes after them. This way, their audience will likely see your posts as well.

  2. Work smarter, not harder

You don’t have to create new content every time in order to increase your engagement. Instead, find your top three performing posts in the last twelve months and repost them with a new caption.

  3. Don’t post on the hour

Posting times can impact the performance of your social media posts. Instead of posting on the hour (like most accounts do), why not post 15 minutes earlier? This can help boost your engagement and help you stick out from competition.

  4. Wait for the right time

Instead of responding to comments right away, wait until you post again before going back to your old post and liking and responding to comments. This will notify your followers, so there’s a better chance for them to check out your page and see your latest post.
